About us

Born from planning our own Umrah

UmrahMap started as a folder of notes, screenshots and open tabs while we prepared our own trip. No single resource brought together the essentials — the ritual, the map, the prices, the documents — built for the actual moment, inside the Haram, with or without signal.

So we decided to build it ourselves: a small app, made by two people who wanted the tool that would have saved them weeks of scattered research. No rush, careful about every detail — from the illustrations of each Tawaf gesture to the exact wording of every dua.

UmrahMap
How we think about the app

Four principles we don't compromise on

Offline first

If it works on good signal but fails inside the Haram, it doesn't count. Everything essential works without a connection.

Accuracy over speed

We'd rather ship a feature later than get the calculation methods, duas, or routes wrong.

Respect for the ritual

Every screen is reviewed carefully so religious content is accurate and presented with care.

No unnecessary noise

No intrusive ads, no filler features. Just what a pilgrim actually needs, done well.

Zero advertising, ever

Help us keep UmrahMap free

We don't run a single ad in the app, and we never sell your data — which means UmrahMap makes no money on its own. Maps, live routing, notifications and cloud storage are covered by people who choose to support the project. Once those running costs are covered, part of what's raised goes to helping pilgrims who can't afford Umrah, through organizations like Islamic Relief, Muslim Hands and Zakat Foundation.
