Terms of use
Last updated: August 15, 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the UmrahMap mobile app and this website (together, the "Service"), operated independently to accompany pilgrims through their Umrah. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. Who can use the Service
The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use by travelers preparing for or performing Umrah. We don't set a general minimum age to download the app, but specific features carry their own requirements — in particular, the Umrah trip giveaway requires entrants to be at least 18 years old at the time of entry, per its official rules.
2. Your account
Some features — syncing your progress, journal, saved duas and visited places across devices — require creating an account with email/password or Google. You're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Let us know if you notice unauthorized use.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you create inside the app — Pilgrim Journal entries, any photos or documents you attach, custom duas, and budget notes. By uploading that content, you grant us a limited license to store it, sync it across your devices, and display it back to you, solely to provide the Service. We don't access your content except as needed to operate the Service, handle a support request, or comply with a legal obligation.
4. Religious content
The texts, duas, transliterations and ritual explanations shown in the app and on this site have been prepared with care and respect, but are offered for informational and educational purposes. They do not replace guidance from a qualified scholar, and we recommend verifying specific questions with a trusted religious source.
5. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Use it in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours.
- Manipulate, automate, or misrepresent entries to the giveaway (for example, using multiple phone numbers or identities).
- Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, offensive, or infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source code, except as expressly permitted by law.
6. Donations
UmrahMap shows no ads and doesn't sell your data; instead, we offer a voluntary donation option handled entirely by Stripe on its own hosted page. Donations are voluntary, go toward covering the app's running costs and, where applicable, the charitable organizations named within the donation feature itself. Donations are non-refundable except in the case of a billing error, and don't unlock any additional feature, content, or right within the app.
7. Umrah trip giveaway
From time to time, we run a free giveaway to win a trip to perform Umrah, subject to SMS verification and a limit of one entry per phone number. Entry is free and never requires a purchase or donation. Full terms — eligibility, deadlines, winner selection, exclusions and data handling — are set out in the official rules available inside the app at the time of entry, which take precedence over this general description in case of conflict.
8. Third-party links and services
The Service links to or relies on third-party services — including Google Maps and Google Places, Google Sign-In, Stripe, the official Nusuk app, and Quran-content and exchange-rate providers. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or policies; your use of them is governed by their own terms.
9. Intellectual property
The design, original text, illustrations, code and UmrahMap brand belong to their creators or are used under license. Except for content you upload yourself, you may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior authorization.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We take particular care with the accuracy of prayer times, routes, prices and other practical information, but we don't guarantee it will always be error-free, up to date, or available without interruption — especially in areas with limited coverage. Pricing and travel-time information is provided as guidance and may vary.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, UmrahMap is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including travel decisions made based on the information it provides. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Suspension and account deletion
You can stop using the Service and request deletion of your account and data at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for an account that seriously violates these terms, including fraudulent use of the giveaway.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We'll publish any relevant changes on this page along with the updated date; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept it.
